Last Update 15th July 2006
Bill Conti, who composed the music for the
previous Rocky films has returned to write the music for Rocky 6.
Conti conducted a 44-piece orchestra, with
strings and brass recorded separately, through the forty-minutes of
underscore. As with all the previous Rocky films that he's scored,
Conti performed the piano himself. On the last day of recording, six
singers were employed to lend their vocal skills, performing the
Oscar-nominated "Gonna Fly Now", as well as a few cues that required their
services.
It has been rumoured Rocky 6: Rocky Balboa
will be released in December 2006 by sources close to Sylvester Stallone.

Yo Adrian! Rocky is planning another comeback.
Fifteen years after starring in "Rocky
V," Sylvester Stallone is reprising his role as the boxing champ
in the sixth "Rocky" movie, publicist Michelle Bega said Monday.
The 59-year-old actor will write and direct
"Rocky Balboa," which will begin shooting in Philadelphia and
Las Vegas next year.
Stallone told the Daily Variety trade magazine
the movie will focus on an aging, widowed Rocky who is reluctant to get
back in the ring but ends up doing it "just to compete, not to win."
"I am drawing on a lot of my feelings
that are in sync with many people's feelings about facing the last chapter
of their lives and how they want it to be written," Stallone said.
Dan Taylor, president of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer,
which is co-producing the film, said the movie focuses less on boxing
and more on character.
"It's about self-examination, an opportunity
to see what kind of person he is and act on it," Taylor said.
It wasn't immediately clear whether Talia
Shire, who appeared in five previous "Rocky" films as the boxer's
love interest, Adrian, will return in the sixth installment, said Stuart
Herriot, a spokesman with Revolution Studios, which is co-producing the
film.
"In the script, she did pass away, but
it's unsure whether she might appear in a flashback or in older footage,"
Herriot said. "It's too early in the production to tell."
But, Herriot said, Burt Young is expected
to return as Adrian's brother, Paulie.
Stallone wrote all the "Rocky"
films and directed the second, third and fourth entries.
The first movie, released in 1976, won three
Oscars, including best picture and best director for John G. Avildsen.

In an interview with
Maxim (men's magazine), Sylvester Stallone did a promotional interview
for his new reality series "The Contender". But he also talked
about "Rambo IV" and "Rocky VI".
Q: Has working on
(The Contender) gotten you fired up to make Rocky 6?
Stallone: I'm always fired up to make another Rocky. It dawned on me a
long time ago that I have this character who's almost autobiographical,
so his story can keep going. The character can go places where the actor
is in his life. The movies almost become documentaries.
Q: So where is Rocky
now?
S: Society says to people, "Step aside; age gracefully." I've
never thought there was anything graceful about aging. So I used what
George Foreman did with his comeback fight a few years ago as a model.
Everyone thought he was a joke, but he followed his own drum.
Q: Since you're still
in fighting shape, will Rambo be back, too?
S: There has been movement in that area, yes. Of course, it won't be what
you think - not the same Rambo with the headband. In keeping with some
sort of believability, he would be passing the torch to a younger generation
of high-tech combatants. We're working on an interesting premise where
Rambo is brought back from living on a ranch somewhere, and because of
his skills in jungle warfare and survival, he's asked to lead a young
group in a search-and-rescue mission. They can't believe this decrepit
guy is a war hero, but when their technology fails, they see where Rambo
excels.

Former
THE A TEAM star MR T is set to reprise his role of CLUBBER LANG in the
upcoming ROCKY VI film.
The 1980s icon played
ROCKY BALBOA's tough, non-nonsense opponent in ROCKY III and he'll reteam
with SYLVESTER STALLONE in the latest instalment of the boxing film franchise.
According to movie
gossip website www.moviehole.net, Mr T, real name LAWRENCE TUREAUD - won't
be the only former Rocky star returning for the new movie - RICHARD GANT
and BURT YOUNG are also set to return for the sixth film.
Stallone has been
creating interest for the movie, which he has written, by posting storyboards
in his new health magazine SLY.
Filming
for Rocky VI is due to start in December 2005 according to sources close
to Sylvester Stallone.
The
script for the film has already been completed and Stallone hope to starts
filming sooner rather than later to allow him to also create another sequel
to the hit film Rambo.
SYLVESTER STALLONE announced his intention
to make ROCKY VI.
The 58-year-old OSCAR-winner is keen to bring
the popular story back to the big screen, 15 years after retiring the
fictional boxing legend.
And feeling toned and healthier
than ever after the launch of his fitness book SLY MOVES, he has no qualms
about returning to the ring.
He says, "I'm still working out, so
why not? I'll take a shot at it.
"It's all about the message and the
scepticism, because when you reach a certain age people become sceptical
about what you can do."
"You may not have the skill but you
can have the will and that can drive you through.

Stallone
is said to be working on a sixth 'Rocky' film, however the plans for the
movie have reportedly been put on hold after MGM studios, who own the
rights to the series, turned down Stallone's proposed script.

around the internet. Check it out here
- Sticking Point Over Budget
Sylvester Stallone told
Entertainment Weekly that he has completed a script for the film,
but the sticking point at this point is budget. He says MGM wants to only
spend $10 million, but that he is holding out for more like a $20 million
budget (that's for the whole film; not just his talents as actor/writer).
Stallone said he's up for one more, but added "What are you going
to do, wait 20 years? It's now or never."
The idea for Rocky VI is to avoid the
big-budget style of Hollywood sequels and return to the small, independent
film feel of the original.
Early plans have Stallone running a youth
centre when he is lured out of retirement for one last fight. Similarities
with George Forman have been reported.
The following actors (along with Burt
Young and Tony Burton) have been rumoured to have been linked with an
appearance in Rocky VI:
- Vin Diesel
- Hulk Hogan (cameo appearance)
- Dolph Lundgren
- Sage Stallone
