About Bryan Adams
Bryan Adams was born on November 5,1959 in Kingston, Ontario . The son of a Canadian diplomat, he admits that moving with his parents throughout Europe and the Middle east, attending British and American schools has made him tough. At age 14 he was living in Vancouver, playing guitar and growing disillusioned with the slackness of North American schools. His report card read: “ Bryan is a very attentive student - when he attends”. But, he had discovered Rock ‘n’ Roll and there was no turning back...
1976: At 16, Bryan goes on the
road across Canada with his band.
1979: A&M Canada hears some of the Adams’ demos, including
‘Let me take you dancing’ and signs him for a recording contract.
1979 Dec: Bryan signs with Bruce Allen manager of Loverboy and Bachman
Turner Overdrive success.
1980 Feb: “Bryan Adams”, first solo LP of Bryan ,was recorded
in Toronto at A&M Records.
1981: Bryan records his 2nd album in New York with engineer, Bob Clearmountain
(Stones, Roxy Music,Bruce Springsteen).
1981 June : Second album "You Want It, You Got It" of Bryan was released..
Produced by Adams and Clearmountain, the album includes 4 successful singles
- ‘Coming home’,‘Lonely nights’, ’one good reason’
and ‘Fits ya good’.
1981 Oct : Bryan starts Western Canadian tour.I1982 Aug : Recording of
Bryan third album begins at Vancouver’s Little Mountain Sound Studios.
1982 Oct: At the Yamaha Music Festival in Japan,Bryan performs with Jim
Vallance on drums .
1983 Jan : Bryan third album, ‘Cuts Like A Knife’ was released.
Produced by Adams and Clearmountain.‘Straight from the heart’ reached
# 10 on the Billboard Singles Chart. The video for the second single, ‘Cuts
like a knife’ was shot in a Los Angeles swimming pool by Steve Barron.
Music Express Magazine’s national popular opinion poll votes him Canada’s
top male vocalist for 1982.
1983 Mar: Bryan hits the road in America, performing over 100 dates in
5 months. Bryan featured on ‘American Bandstand’!
1983 Apr: The video for third single, ‘This Time’was shooted
at Edwards Air Force base in California. The video is directed by Steve Barron
with cinematography by Lazlo Kovacs.
1983 June: ‘Cuts Like A Knife’ becomes Bryan’s first
U.S. gold album. The second single reaches #15 on Billboard.
1983 Sept: ‘Cuts Like
A Knife’ goes platinum in the U.S., passing the one million mark in sales
and entering the Billboard Top 10. The third single ‘This Time’
reaches #24. Bryan plays with Supertramp to 30,000 Vancouver fans at the new
B.C. Place domed stadium. he performs in eleven countries on a six-week solo
tour of Europe. While in Germany, he tapes the popular rock TV show, ‘Rockpalast’.
1983 Dec: Bryan’s numerous music industry awards for the year include
Best Selling New Artist (The National Association of Record Merchandisers),
#2 Male AOR Artist (The Album Network) and #3 most played AOR Album (Radio &
Records), as well as the Juno Award for Top Male Vocalist.
1984 Feb: Adams tours Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii .
1984 Mar: Recording for new album ‘Reckless’ begins in Vancouver,
B.C.
1984 June: Bray became unhappy with the project and takes an unexpected
month off.
1984 Oct: The single ‘Run To You’ was released ,the video
was shoted in England and Los Angeles.Bryan gives a free concert in Vancouver
to log footage for the rest of the video package.Which draws an overwhelming
number of fans, causes a huge downtown traffic jam and a near riot
1984 Nov: Bryans fourth album ‘Reckless’ was released on
November 5th, Bryan’s birthday. The album again was produced by Adams
and Clearmountain includes ‘Heaven’, ‘It’s Only Love’
and the energetic ‘Kids Wanna Rock’. “Reckless” is simultaneously
released as an album, chrome cassette, compact disc and a 30- minute home video
package; directed by Steve Barron. Songs on the video include ‘Run To
You’,’Somebody’, ‘Heaven’, ‘Kids Wanna Rock’,’Summer
Of 69’, along with an unedited version of ‘This Time’. He
embarks on a ten day press tour of Europe which includes an appearance on Germany’s
‘Rock Pop In Concert’ with an audience of 20 million viewers.
1985 Jan: Bryan tours major cities across Canada then heads south through
the American West Coast, culminating with two dates at the star- studded Paladium
in Los Angeles.
1985 Mar : Bryan shoots a video for ‘Heaven’ in London, England.
1985 May: Bryan begins the first leg of his “World Wide in 85’
tour of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It lasts into October.
1985 June: ‘Heaven’ hits #1 in Billboard
Magazine.
1985 July: Bryan performs at the giant Live Aid Concert in Philadelphia
on the 13th. He records the single ‘Christmas Time’ before resuming
his American tour.
1985 Aug: Reckless hits #1 in the Top 100 albums chart as his U.S.
1985 Oct: Attends the film premier of the movie ‘Tears Are Not
Enough’ and accepts the William Harold Moon Award from PRO Canada in Toronto.
He records background vocal on ‘Don’t Forget Me’ for Glass
Tiger.
1985 Dec: Bryan accepts the prestigious Diamond Award at a ceremony in
Vancouver commemorating the sales of one million copies of ‘Reckless’
across Canada. By year’s end, six singles from ‘Reckless’
reached Top 10 status.
1986 Feb: Bryan was nominated for two Grammy Awards. Writing and recording
demos for a new album commences.
1986 May: Bryan performs for the Prince and Princess of Wales at the
Expo Opening Gala in Vancouver..
1986 June:
Bryan performs at Amnesty International’s ‘Conspiracy of Hope’
tour. He also performs at the Prince’s Trust charity concerts at Wembley
Stadium in London on the 20th .
1986 Aug : Bryan and Bob Clearmountain begin recording of the fifth album
at Cliffhanger Studios, Bryan’s home recording studio.
1986 Sept: Bryan and Tina Turner win the MTV Award for Best Live Performance
for ‘It’s Only Love’. Bryan and Jim Vallance take top honors
for ‘ Edge Of A Dream’, ‘Somebody’ and ‘Summer
of 69’ at the 18th Annual PRO Canada Awards in Toronto.
1986 Nov: Bryan once again was voted by the National Express Magazine’s
reader poll as Top Male Vocalist for the fourth year in a row at the Canadian
Junos.
1987 Jan : The new album titled, ‘Into The Fire’ is mixed
in England.
1987 Mar: Bryan embarks on a European Press Tour. Countries include England,
Italy, Holland and Germany. The first album single, ‘Heat Of The Night’
is released; the video is shot in Los Angeles, directed by Wayne Isham of The
Company, followed by the releases of ‘Into The Fire’. He wins the
International Achievement Award at the Tribute to West Coast Music in Vancouver.
A&M releases one of the first-ever “cassingles” with ‘Heat
Of The Night’ and ‘Another Day’ as the B-side.
1987 July: ‘Into The Fire’ is certified platinum in the U.S.
He does an exclusive interview with London’s “Q” Magazine.
1987 Aug: The tour continues through the Western United States . Despite
a heavy concert schedule, Bryan shoots a video on the 14th for his third single,
‘Victim Of Love’ in Los Angeles which is directed by Dominic Sena
of Propaganda Films.
1987 Oct: Bryan and the band head to Paris, France to do pre-tour press.
1987 Nov: As the European tour continues, Bryan wins two Juno Awards
on the 2nd. One is for Male Vocalist Of The Year, the other Entertainer Of The
Year - a first time category and an honor for Bryan as the votes come directly
from the public. ‘Reckless’ achieves gold status in Sweden and ‘Into
The Fire’ reaches gold in Switzerland.
1987 Dec: The European leg of ‘Into The Fire’ finishes in Dublin,
Ireland. Having performed in a dozen countries in less than ten weeks time,the
tour has been a complete success with almost every show sold out.
1988 Jan: Bryan and the band are once again on the road. Beginning in
Alaska on the 22nd, then heads to Japan to play 10 sold out concerts - 5 of
which are at Tokyo’s Budokan. Bryan is presented with yet another platinum
award for 100,000 copies of ‘Into The Fire’ in Japan.
1988 Mar: Bryan and Jim begin writing on the sixth album. Bryan was once
again honored with awards for Male Vocalist and Single Of The Year for ‘Victim
Of Love’ at the Rock Express Music Awards in Toronto.
1988 June:
Sets attendance records in Portugal and all three shows are SRO in Isreal. Bryan
performs in front of 120,000 fans in East Berlin; three days later he plays
West Berlin. Bryan participates in Freedomfest to honor Nelson Mandela at Wembley
Stadium in London to more than 70,000 fans. He wins Crystal Award from PRO Canada
to commemorate radio airplay of over 100,000 times for ‘Straight From
The Heart’. Bryan donates song, ‘Remembrance Day’ to a government-sponsored
video in honor of the Victory Cross medal awarded during wartime.
1988 July: The final leg of the ‘Into The Fire’ tour is now
completed, wrapping up in Locarno, Switzerland; Bryan returns to London for
10 days of album production before returning home.
1988 Aug: Recording for the next album begins and anticipated release
date is April 1989.
1988 Sept/Oct : Bryan isn’t completely satisfied with 4 of the
8 tunes recorded, so he resumes writing more album material. This unexpected
turn of events pushes projected album release to Fall ‘89.
1989 Jan: Bryan receives Juno nomination for ‘Canadian Entertainer
Of The Year’ which takes place in March. A first-ever one hour television
special “ Bryan Adams: Live in Belgium” is aired across the country,
which was filmed in Werchter, July 88. Bryan writes letters to both of Vancouver’s
daily newspapers disproving of the demolition of one of the cities’older
landmarks - The Georgia Medical Building. This signifies the beginning of Bryan’s
heritage and environmentally concious campaign.
1989 Mar: Bryan’s song ‘Somebody’ is included on the two
record set, Rainbow Warriors: the exclusive Russian release by the environmental
group, Greenpeace.
1989 May: Bryan presents a cheque on behalf of Northern Lights For Africa
- from album sales to Mayor Campbell in Vancouver for Mayor’s Walk For
Famine Relief. Appears in Joe Cocker’s video, ‘When The Night Comes’.
June 1989: Teams up with famed producer/composer Mutt Lange (The Cars, Def Leppard)
at London’s Olympic Studios to write more material for the upcoming lp.
Bryan attends a press conference on the 8th to launch the North American release
of Rainbow Warriors. Also joins world reknown artists to re-record the classic
Deep Purple hit, ‘Smoke On The Water’ in aid of Armenian earthquake
victims.
1989 July: Returns to Vancouver’s Little Mountain Sound to record
more songs for the lp with Bob Clearmountain. Bryan and Keith attend the David
Foster celebrity softball tournament banquet in Victoria, B.C. - an annual fund
raiser for kidney research.
1989 Aug: Records back up vocals for Belinda Carlisle’s song, ‘Whatever
It Takes’.
1989 Dec: A long awaited first-ever live lp is released in Japan. Titled
‘Live Live Live’, recordings are from the Live In Belgium performance.
Bryan returns to the Little Mountain Sound Studios mid month to record yet more
material for the upcoming album. Release date is tentatively projected for April
1990. Bryan and entourage head for Japan on the 27th.
1990 Mar: Bryan presents ‘Album Of The Year’ to Alannah Myles
at the Canadian Juno Awards in Toronto on the 18th. He adds vocal tracks as
the voice of “Hoodwink” for an upcoming animated film titled ‘The
Ice Queen’s Mittens’, which is later re-titled, ‘The Real
Story Of The Three Little Kittens’.
1990 Apr: Bryan returns to London and joins Eric Carmen in the studio
to record backing vocals to the Adams-penned tune, ‘Feels Like Forever’
for Eric’s upcoming lp. Bryan’s own project production continues
with Mutt in England for the next two months.
1990 June: Bryan is honored with the prestigious “Order Of British
Columbia Award” at a ceremony in Victoria on the 21st. He headlines two
European festivals in Midfyns & Rosskilde, Denmark, June 29th & 30th.
Other top performers include fellow Canadian, Jeff Healey, Little Feat and Bob
Dylan. Bryan adds vocal tracks to the David Foster tune, ‘River Of Love’
at his home studio in Vancouver.
1990 July: Bryan takes part in the elaborate musical production of ‘The
Wall’. The rock opera is staged by ex-Pink Floyd guitarist , Roger Waters
at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, Germany- and is broadcast to over 30 countries
in front of a live outdoor audience of 200,000 fans. Bryan’s rendition
of ‘Young Lust’ receives critical acclaim and quickly climbs Billboard
AOR charts.
1990 Aug : Bryan headlines ‘Live At The Park’- an outdoor
festival in Calgary, Alberta on the 17th. Also on the bill are The Pursuit Of
Happiness and Vancouver’s Paul Laine. Attendance exceeds 27,000. Tour
photographer, Andrew Catlin is in town for photo sessions with Bryan and the
band for the upcoming album and Much Music interviews him for an Artist of the
Decade special. On the international front, the 1985 lp, ‘Reckless’,
and the single ‘Summer Of 69’ are climbing the charts in Holland
to the #10 and #4 spots respectively.
1990 Sept : Bryan sings the National Anthem to officially start Vancouver’s
first-ever Molson Indy Car Race held September 2nd. He receives the Humanitarian
Of The Year Award by local Maple Ridge Hospital Foundation, but is unable to
attend the awards gala on the 29th, as Bryan and band are enroute to South America
for a three day Freedom-fest. They perform at the huge 55,000 seat Estadio Chile
in Santiago, Chile on the 28th, then head to Buenos Aries, Argentina the following
day to perform alongside David Bowie and Mick Taylor at the Estadio Rio Plat.
Local press hails his performance as a hard-hitting classic rock & roll
show. He has conquered a relatively unknown market.
1990 Oct: In recognition of his achievements as a Canadian citizen, Bryan
is honored with the “Honor Of Canada Award” at a ceremony in Ottawa,
Ontario on the 24th.
1990 Nov: The Canadian Recording Industry Association choses Bryan as
the Best Male Artist of the 80’s. An Awards Gala & Charity Dinner
is held in Toronto on the 20th.
1990 Dec: Recording continues in England throughout most of the month.
Bryan returns home for the holidays with family & friends. ‘LIVE LIVE
LIVE’ is certified gold in Japan, commemorating the sale of over 50,000
units.
Jan 1991: He returns to London on the 6th to begin mixing with Mutt Lange.
Anticipated release date for ‘Waking Up The Neighbors’ is slated
for late April. European festival dates with ZZ Top are announced for June.
1991 Apr: Bryan and Mutt Lange write and record ‘(Everything I
Do) I Do It For You’ for the movie soundtrack of Robin Hood: Prince Of
Thieves. Bryan returns home for a break, and to take a brief ski holiday in
Whistler - a village retreat outside Vancouver.
1991 June: Between June 3rd & 6th,
a video is shot for the first album single.‘Can’t Stop This Thing
We Started’ is directed by Kevin Godley (ex 10cc) at Pinewood Studios
in London. On the 8th, Bryan kicks off the tour by headlining the Jubeck Festival
in Germany. On the 17th, he performs a private show for service personel recently
returned from the Persian Gulf War at the Canadian Armed Forces Base in Baden
Baden, Germany. On the 12th, ‘Everything I Do’ is released internationally
- days following the movie premier. The initial shipping of 385,000 copies to
record outlets across the country was the largest single shipment in A&M
Records history. While the film registered 8th best debut weekend in film history,
the single debuted at #1 in all radio formats - from Rock to Contemporary Hit
Radio.
1991 July: By the first week of July, ‘Everything I Do’ races
to the #1 chart position in Ireland, followed shortly by England. It has become
Bryan’s second #1 Billboard single, and first-ever #1 hit in the U.K.
The Adams/ZZ Top Tour wraps up on the 6th at Milton Keynes in London. An amazing
70,000 fans are in attendance. On the 10th, Bryan and the band perform ‘Everything
I Do’ on Britain’s TOP OF THE POPS television program. Bryan remains
in London for album completion. A firm release date is slated for late September.
1991 Aug: ‘Thought I’d Died And Gone To Heaven’ and
‘All I Want Is You’ is filmed once again by Kevin Godley at Pinewood
Studios. ‘Can’t Stop This Thing We Started’ is released internationally
on August 27th - climbing quickly on the singles chart.
1991 Nov:Bryan sweeps the Australian Music Awards- winning Most Popular
International Male, Most Popular International Song and Most Popular International
Album. Bryan’s acceptance was pre-taped from Europe two days earlier.
1991 Dec: On the 9th, Bryan receives Billboard Magazine’s ‘Hot
100 Single’,‘Hot AC Single’ and ‘#1 World Single’
Awards. ‘Waking Up The Neighbors’ has sold more than 5.5 million
copies. It has dominated charts in 10 countries, including 9 weeks and still
counting at #1 in Canada. ‘Everything I Do’ achieved #1 status in
19 countries with sales of over 8 million units. ‘Can’t Stop This
Thing We Started’ was #1 in Canada for four weeks and has also charted
around the world. Tour continues through Europe - wrapping up on the 18th with
2 first-ever shows in Reykjavik, Iceland. Bryan and band receive gold and platinum
achievement awards in every country on the tour!
1992 Feb: The tour continues to New Zealand & Australia for 7 dates-
kicking off with a press conference in Sydney. In Melbourne, the Irish group,
The Commitments join Bryan on stage to perform ‘Mustang Sally’ &
‘Midnight Hour’. Bryan does interviews for “Hey Hey It’s
Saturday”, MTV and the “Homefree” radio show. The fourth single,
‘Thought I’d Died And Gone To Heaven’ is released internationally
on the 14th. On the 21st the tour heads to Japan for close to a dozen shows
in 6 cities. Bryan, Mutt Lange & Michael Kamen receive a Grammy Award on
the 25th for “Best Song Written Specifically For Motion Picture or Television”
for ‘Everything I Do’. Manager Bruce Allen accepts on Bryan’s
behalf.
1992 May: Reaching the one million mark in sales, ‘Waking Up The
Neighbors’ is certified Diamond Status in Canada.
1992 June : The tour continues through several countries, including Italy,
Germany, Holland and Scandinavia. While in France, Bryan and the band appear
on STARS 90; in Holland he was interviewed and perfomed three tunes on ‘Veronica’s
Countdown’.
1992 July: On the 8th, Bryan
performs on the England’s Top Of The Pops television program, and Wembley
Stadium sees the largest attendance of the tour with an estimated 80,000 fans!
Roger Daltry of the WHO attends the show and joins Extreme on stage. Bryan joins
Little Angels in the studio to do backing vocals on ‘Too Much Too Young’
and appears briefly in their video. Bryan performs first-ever shows in Hungary
and Turkey. The latest single ‘Do I Have To Say The Words’ is released
and the video is shot by Anton Coribijn in Istanbul & Iceland on the 28th.
1992 Oct: Bryan returns to U.S. for further dates with support act, Arc
Angels. Following the West Coast southward with several shows in California,
two sold-out shows are performed in Mexico City on the 23rd & 24th. Bryan’s
Spanish version of ‘Everything I Do’ sat at the top of the Pop Charts
for weeks. ‘Waking Up The Neighbors’ is certified Triple Platinum
in the U.S. and has gone gold in India!
1992 Nov: Bryan celebrates his 33rd birthday in England, International
sales of ‘Waking Up The Neighbors’ hits the 10 million mark.
1993 Jan: The video package debuts at #2 on video charts in the U.K.
The Grammy nominations are announced: Bryan is nominated for Male Vocalist for
‘There Will Never Be Another Tonight’. He receives a Juno nomination
for Canadian Entertainer of the Year. With the month off, Bryan spends time
at home in Vancouver. The South East Asian tour kicks off on the 29th with three
spectacular shows in Taiwan.
1993 Feb: The Asian tour heads to Thailand, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong
and ending up on the 14th in Manila.
1993 Oct: In early October ‘Please Forgive Me’, tune written
by Bryan Adams and Mutt Lange enters the charts worldwide! It debuted at #2
in singles charts in Italy and England, #3 on MTV in the U.K., #2 in Spain by
Christmas. Entered the Aussie charts at #6 and #1 two weeks later. By this time
‘Please Forgive Me’ was #2 in Britain.
1993 Nov:
November rocked! Bryan, Rod and Sting were officially brought together for the
first time on the 4th to shoot a video for ‘All For Love’ at the
ratty old Ritz Theatre in Elizabeth, New Jersey. ‘All For Love’
debuted at #9 on the national charts. The greatest hits lp,‘So Far So
Good’ including the brand new single, ‘Please Forgive Me’
was released on the 9th, entering the U.K. charts at #3. Both ‘Please
Forgive Me’ and ‘So Far So Good’ ended the year at #1 in OZ.
1993 Dec: Bryan was in New York on the 2nd for press interviews and a
rear appearance on MTV’s John Stewart Show singing the ‘Summer Of
69’ !!!. He went back to London for the remaining two weeks before embarking
on the beginning of the ‘So Far So Good World Tour’! At the end
of December, Bryan landed in Jakarta, Indonesia to begin the eight week long
tour of S.E. Asia. One of the highlights of the tour was the show in Vietnam-where
Bryan was the FIRST WESTERN ARTIST to ever perform.Meanwhile,
So Far So Good has sold 6.5 million copies; "Please Forgive Me" is #1 around
the globe - from Australia to Sweden and Italy. Concerts continued throughout several countries including India, Bahrain,Dubai,
Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and Japan before wrapping up in Korea on the
22nd of February,1994. All in all over 100,000 fans saw the tour in Asia alone!!!
1994 Mar: A U.S. date takes place at Madison
Square Gardens, New York City on the 6th; Sting jjoins Bryan on stage for a
duet of
"All For Love". 3 sold-out shows take place in Vancouver on the 18th - 20th.
1994 April-August: Tours through South Africa and Italy.Summer 1994 Bryan
performs 6 sold out nights at Wembley in London between May 2nd and 8th. He
heads to America for 16 dates into the first week of June. Bryan´s Anti Whaling
campaign helps establish an whale sanctuary south of the 40°r; parallel.
He receives World Music Award for Best Selling Canadian Artist. Also receives
platinum Fender Guitar from PolyGram in Vancouver to commemorate sales of 40
million units. He kicks off his European tour on June 29th in Leipzig, Germany.
The tour continues in France, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Norway, Holland, Denmark,
and ends mid August in Austria. A&M Records finally releases the 1989 Japanese
Live! Live! Live! album internationally late August.
1994 Sept: Bryan returns to London to write tunes. He heads to Modena,Italy
to perform a television special with Luciano Pavarotti on the 13th. He performs
at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto on th 29th and receives honor for Best
Foreign Video By A Canadian Artist.
1994 Oct: Bryan performs at the Elvis Presley Tribute in Memphis, TN
on the 8th; song-writing with Mutt Lange in Jamaica.
1994 Nov: Bryan is special guest with the Rolling Stones in Louisiana,Texas,
Arkansas and Georgia.
1994 Dec: Bryan receives Music & Media Magazine, Europe #1 Selling
Album Male Artist Award, and International Artist of the Year by the Australian
Music Association.Winter 1995 Album production continues in Jamaica with Mutt
Lange.
1995 Mar : Bryan records "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman" for the Don
Juan DeMarco movie soundtrack. The song features classical guitarist, Paco de
Lucia. On the B-side, the single features a new Adams/Peters tune, "Low Life".
1995 April : Bryan performs on 'Top Of The Pops' with Paco. A video for
"Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?" is shot in Spain, directed by Anton Corbijn.
1995 May : Pavarotti & Friends 2 is released on CD and video. Bryan
performs two shows in Toronto, Ontario to open the new amphitheatre.
1995 June: Bryan performs at theBlockbuster Movie Music Awards in L.A. He
wins Kerrang! Klassik Songwriter Award in London and Nordiff Robbins Silver
Clef Award for outstanding musical contribution.
1995 July: Bryan records the Adams/Lange tune "Rock Steady" with Bonnie
Raitt for her new album and television special.
1995 Aug : Album pre-production wraps in Jamaica. Bryan performs at Hudson's
Bay Company Festival in High River, Alberta.
1995 Sept :Bryan presents at MTV Awards in New York on the 7th. On the19th,
he opens Vancouver's General Motors Place. A Bryan Adams biography book is launched
with a book-signing at new Library Square in Vancouver. He receives MuchMusic
Favorite Male Artist Award. Album production is moved to St. Tropez, France
at the home of French singer, Johnny Hallyday.
1995Oct :Bryan joins Hallyday on stage in Toulon.
1995 Nov :Bryan wins MTV Europe Best Male Vocalist Award; he perfomrs

1995 Dec : Bryan performs at the FUXX 95 Soccer Awards show in Frankfurt,
Germany.
1996 Jan: Bryan performs shows in Ottawa and Hamilton, Ontario. He receives
two Grammy Nominations for "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman", and four Juno
nominations; NRG television show in Cannes, France on 20th. He joins Celine
Dion on stage in Cannes on the 22nd to perform "(Everything I Do) I Do It For
You" as a duet.
1996 Feb :Interview with Entertainment Weekly Magazine on 8th. Bryan
receives an Academy Award nomination for "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?".
1996 Mar :Bryan performs at the Academy Awards in Los Angeles on the
25th, and a VH1 Duets Television Special is taped with Brian Setzer & guests
in L.A on the 26th. A Video is shot on the 27th & 28th for the first single,
"The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You", with L.A. photographer Matthew
Rolston. US Magazine interview on the 29th.

Show live from Los Angeles. An album photo shoot takes place on the 28th. The

1996 May :The video premiers on the 1st. Canadian press on the 2nd &
3rd in Vancouver includes Canadian Musician, Flare & Maclean's Magazine,
MuchMusic and CBC National Television.Press tour in Hong Kong and Japan; interviews
include MTV Asia, Music Life and Young Guitar Magazines, Elle Magazine (NY),
and Molly Meldrum TV (AUS). He performs on the Ranissimo TV show in Hamburg
Germany on the 12th; German press on 13th: Bravo TV, Musik Express/Sounds, VIVA
TV,Gitarre & Bass Magazine (with Keith). He performs at Top Of The Pops
in London on the 15th and The Lottery Show on the 18th. On the 23rd, BA &
band perform live on Radio One show,Virgin Radio and Capital Radio in London.
TFI television Show is recorded in London on the 24th. Bryan plays two festival
dates in Germany on the 25th & 26th, and performs at Top Of The Pops on

1996 June : On June 1st, Bryan performs for KISS 108 Radio. He also performs
at Genesis Foundation Concert in Boston, USA, and at the David Letterman show
in New York on the 3rd. The album 18 Til I Die is released on the 4th.
1996 July :European outdoor tour ends in London on the 27th.
1996 Aug :Bryan performs at Televisa Television in Mexico on the 11th,
at Bravo Magazine Birthday Show in Germany on the 24th and at Festival Bar in
Naples, Italy on the 31st.
1996 Sept :Television in Holland, France, Denmark... Bryan performs on
Late Night With Conan O 'Brien and Rosie O'Donnell show on the 11th. On the
19th, He performs Much Music Awards in Toronto (nominated Favourite Video and
Favourite Male) and does a surprise midnight gig at the Horseshoe Tavern.
1996 Oct :Lifetime TV Benefit Show on 13th in Los Angeles. A video for
"Star" is shot by Kevin Godley at Charlie Chaplin Studios on the 13th. Bryan
performs at VH1 City of Hope Benefit on the 16th. He appears on Austrailian
tv, Hey Hey it's Saturday from Orlando, Florida. Bryan performs at the VH1 Fashion
Awards in New York on the 24th (nominated Most Stylish Music Video and Most
Fashionable Artist). Press in Japan on the 28th & 29th. He records "I Finally
Found Someone" with Barbara Steisand for the movie soundtrack of The Mirror
Has Two Faces in Los Angeles.
1996 Nov : The Adams/Streisand duet is released on the 5th; "Star" is released
in Europe on the 11th and is featured in the Robin Williams film, Jack. Television
press in London, Germany, Paris, Austria & Italy. Bryan performs at the
MTV Europe Awards in London on the 14th (nominated best male). He appears on
Top Of The Pops on the 20th and on Goldene Europa music awards on the 22nd.
He performs at the ATP War Child Gala, Hannover on the 23rd, and on V Channel
Music Awards, Bombay, India on the 30th. He receives International Rock Album
of the Year & Best Music Video awards.
1996 Dec :Concert for WPLJ Radio contest in New York on the 2nd. National
Radio contest Concert at Disney World, Florida on the 4th. The Adams/Streisand
duet is released internationally on the 28th.
1997 Jan :Tour starts in New Zealand on the 24th and continues to Australia
through Feb 16th. Inteview for New Vegetarian & Natural Health Magazine,
Melbourne. 18 til I Die is re-released in Europe with a purple cover and "I
Finally Found Someone" as added track. Bryan receives an American Music Awards
Nomination for Male Vocalist.
1997 Feb :"I'll Always Be Right There" is released as a single in N.America
only. Bryan receives a -Golden Globe nomination for Best Orignal Song for "I
Finally Found Someone". He receives a Brit Awards Nomination (London) for International
Male Solo Artist.
1997 Mar :Bryan tours Japan between the 5th and 16th. He returns to Ireland
at the end of the month. A video for the next single, "18 Til I Die" is shot
in London on the 19th, directed by David Mould. Bryan performs the single on
the Jack Doherty Show, UK on the 31st. He receives an Oscar Nomination for "I
Finally Found Someone", and a Grammy Award Nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal
Performance for "Let's Make A Night To Remember". Bryan wins Best International
Artist at Help A London Child Charity Awards in London. He receives Juno Award
Nominations for Album Of The Year, Male Vocalist, Songwriter of the Year &
Producer Of The Year for "The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You" &
"Let's Make A Night To Remember". Receives Echo Awards (Germany) Nomination

1997 Apr :"18 Til I Die" single is released in the UK on the 7th and
in Europe on the 14th.-Sold out dates continue through the UK & Germany
including 5 nights at Wembley Arena in London. Bryan tapes Top Of The Pops in
London on the 9th, the show airs on the 18th. May 1997 The tour continues through
Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal & Belgium. Virgin Megastore
appearance in Cascais Portugal on the 26th June 1997 First-ever concert in Luxembourg
takes place on the 2nd. Concerts in France & Scandinavia are followed by
an encore tour back to Germany and England.
1997 July :A break in the tour schedule is spent writing new tunes for
an upcoming MTV Unplugged Concert.
1997 Aug :U.S. dates through north-eastern states between the 14th and
30th Sept/Fall 1997 Unplugged scheduled to be filmed and will air before the
end of the year. Possible Unplugged CD release anticipated.
1998 : His new album On a day like today
was released .
Most recently, Bryan's focus has been
on supporting breast cancer. After contributing a song to an album and campaign
to help find a cure for breast cancer with Self Magazine in America, he went
on to organizing a benefit concert in Canada early in 1998 and raised over a
million dollars to build a breast-screening center at the St. Catherine's General
Hospital with supermodel Linda Evangelista. That led to the release of "Made
In Canada," a best selling book of his black and white photographs of Canadian
women including Celine Dion, Alanis Morrisette, Joni Mitchell and many others.
All royalties from this book went to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
1999 :Universal Records has just released his 12th album this fall
entitled "The Best Of Me" - Adams's end of the decade greatest hits collection
that includes two new songs, the beatley title track 'The Best Of Me' and the
trippy dance track 'Don't Give Up'. The future seems clear that Adams is unstoppable.
Adams and his power trio of Keith Scott on guitar and Mickey Curry on drums,
completed over 120 concerts in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
2000 Jan : They are touring Canada with concert dates booked well into the
first year of this new millennium. Look for concerts in America, Australia,
Japan and more dates in Europe later this year and into the next.
