Star Wars on Ebay

Type in Star Wars in a search on eBay just for the UK and you get 11,450 items. Type it again and say worldwide and you get 28, 534. This is not the true amount of Star Wars items available because ebay would not let me not specify anything other than available to the UK.

As a collector 28,534 lots is a daunting enough challenge to sort through, for as any of you who have used ebay know, the categories do not always show all of the items that they should do, I have lost count of the number of times I’ve looked in the category then decided to browse the entire listing anyway and seen items that were not in the section set aside for them.

I have not looked at an entire listing for Star Wars and doubt if I ever will.

I am not including shipping costs in my search for the lowest and highest priced item, because that varies depending upon where you are, so I am going by the currant bid price.

The cheapest, are those starting at a penny, proper lots not those with a reserve, there are a few pages of penny lots, and then they gradually move up in price until you reach the highest priced Star Wars item listed today.

There are two items currently being bid on and have both reached the price of $1,925.00 or £1,044.97.

Star Wars Boba Fett 21-Back AFA 85NM+. Unpunched the reserve has not been met. It ends in just over two days.
This is the description.
This auction Is for the best of the best AFA-85 NM+ 21 Back Boba Fett. Condition of the bubble and card are as follows. Bubble straight crystal clear and ding dent free. Card perfectly straight no corner bends or wear no creases front or back no price tag ever touched this one and It Is Unpunched. This a perfect speciman and was purchased from Cloudcity collectables for $3500.00 reserve price Is well under that.

Although Boba Fett is my favourite character even if I was worth a few million I would not pay as much as $3500.00 for an action figure.

I am watching both items and will see which sells for the higher amount, if the Fett figure meets the reserve.

The Fett figure got up to $2,365.10 but did not meet the reserve.

As much as I love Boba Fett and wish to own all the merchandise for him, I would not spend that kind of money one an action figure. The life size statue yes, an action figure no, not even if I was worth a few million.

The pinball machine sold for $2,402.00.

This is still more than I would have paid, but to me this was a far more sensible item to bid thousands on, than the Fett figure.

Conclusion from watching those two auctions, some people have more money than sense, especially the one bidder who kept trying to get past the reserve on the Fett figure.

Positive thing for me from watching the two auctions I don’t feel so bad about my more extravagant ebay buys, because they were nowhere near as crazy as $2,365.10 for one figure! My single lot purchases do not even come close! The most I have spent is about £80, um $130?

Oh I was very good and didn’t bid on any of the items I looked at for this article! :P
