The following verses are printed directly from the King James Version of the
bible. Underneath each verse in italics is my interpretation of what the
verse says, simplified for those of you that don't like Old English

Ecclesiastes 7:3 - "Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the
sadness of the countenance the heart is made better."
*Sorrow can be better than laughter because by the letting out of sadness
you can cleanse your heart of pain. Laughter can't allow all
the pain out.*
Matthew 5:4 - "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be
comforted."
*Those who allow their grief and mourning to come out will receive the
comforting they desire.*
2 Corinthians 7:10 - "For Godly sorrow worketh repentance to
salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death."
*Sorrow that leads you to repentance is a good thing and you should not
ask forgiveness for it. But, if your sorrow is from a lack of
pleasure; sorrow because you did not get your way, or sorrow that does not
lead you to repentance, it will only hurt you in the end.*
